John Holmes letter to James Monroe [manuscript], 1816 June 2.

Holmes asks whether a British Commissioner has been apppointed to adjust the [Passamaquoddy Bay] line in the east. He has heard a rumor that Col. Barclay was appointed but doubts it. He would not have troubled Monroe but the people of Eastport are uneasy.
